What a heartbeating final at the second round of the German Rally Championship!

From the 7th to the 8th of April the german rally elite came to Schlitz, a small town in the middle of Germany, for the secound round of the German Rally Championship(DRM).

Friday evening the 87 participiants made their way to the first four stages. After 4 stages Christian Riedemann was on the lead with 5,6s in front of Fabian Kreim, just 0,4s behind Kreim Sandro Wallenwein took his 3rd place overnight.

The next day Fabian Kreim made a big attack on Riedemann. After the first two stages Kreim took over the lead in front of Riedemann and Wallenwein, but on the next stage Riedemann and his co-driver Michael Wenzel had a heavy accident with some serious injuries. They both came in a hospital and are on the way of improvement.
The following stages were a real thriller! Kreim lost around 40s and Dominik Dinkel could take over the lead in front of Sandro Wallenwein and Fabian Kreim. Kreim could keep a cool head and won the last 2 stages close and was the winner of the rally. Dominik Dinkel and Sandro Wallenwein completed the podium. Jacob Madsen won the first round of the Opel Adam Rally Cup 30s in front of Tom Kristensson and Calvin Beattie.

The next round of the German Rally Championship is the Rallye Rund um die Sulinger Bärenklaue from the 5th to 6th of May.
