Colin McRae tribute attracts an impressive field of entrants for Rallylegend 2017 (Demo) (Demo)

In October the Republic of San Marino turns into heaven for petrolheads. When the hills of Monte Titano vibrate in the noises of group B Legends thousands of fans can’t resist the urge to head to La Serenissima for their ultimate dose of rallying history.

Ten years after the terrible loss of late great Colin McRae, one the most spectacular drivers the rallying world has ever seen, Rallylegend pays tribute to the last Scottish world champion and attracts a number of world champions and legend cars that’s nothing but mindblowing.
Among the participants for the whole event will be current Citroen works driver Kris Meeke behind the wheel of an ex-Loeb Xsara WRC that paved the way for the companies dominance in the world rally championship.
Colin’s brother Alister McRae will take the wheel of a car celebrating a very special moment. Accompanied by Colin’s former co driver Derek Ringer the pair will pilot the Subaru Legacy Colin took to second place at Rally Sweden 1992. It will be reunited with the McRae family to conquer the stages of San Marino and the hearts of rally fans alike.

Sunday madness – Legends Parade
When Colin calls the stars don’t need asking twice.
Sebastien Loeb (Citroen C4 WRC), Sebastien Ogier (VW Polo R WRC), Stig Blomqvist (Audi Quattro S1), Miki Biasion (Lancia Delta Integrale). In addition to them Juha Kankkunen (Lancia Delta Integrale), Tommi Makinen (Mitsubishi Lancer), Marcus Gronholm (Peugeot 206 WRC), Ari Vatanen (Ford Escort RS), Timo Salonen (Peugeot 205 T16), Didier Auriol Celica), Petter Solberg (Subaru Impreza WRC) will surely be exciting to watch. Among the World Champions, with their FIA tles in 1977 and 1978, there will also be Sandro Munari (Lancia Stratos), co-drivers Hans Thorszelius for Bjorn Waldegaard and Robert Reid for Richard Burns, representing big drivers that unfortunately already left us way too early. An army of champions that, to date, had never been seen together let alone driven the same special stage.

We’re now getting close to the start of the 15th Rallylegend, which will take place in the Republic of San Marino next week from 18th to 22nd October.

We have had the pleasure of experiencing the lovely madness that’s Rallylegend twice during the last years and it has instantly become an event that manifested itself as a must deep in our hearts. The whole package of cars, drivers, beautiful countryside and mesmerizing atmosphere burned deep into our memory and left us wanting more the minute we stepped into our car for the 1.100 km trip back home. The time capsule that’s Rallylegend takes you back to a time when rallying was exciting, fun and simply a huge party for everyone involved.
If you’re reading this and you haven’t been there already, you’re missing out on something. Promised.
