René Mandel took his first victory in his career and made some important points for the championship.
After the dramatic Hessen Rallye one month ago the drivers moved to Sulingen for the next round of the German Rally Championship (DRM). After Riedemanns‘ heavy accident at the last round Philipp Knof took over his Peugeot for the third round of the DRM.
After the first three stages Fabian Kreim took over the lead in front of Dominik Dinkel and Rene Mandel. Saturday morning begun really bad for Kreim. He made a mistake which resulted in a crash and had to retire. Two stages later Dominik Dinkel took a cut too deep, broke his Wishbone and had to retire aswell. The time of Mandel came now. He took over the lead and brought it to the finish. Philipp Knof had an accident at stage nine and had to retire – after a good and steady drive. The dutch Hermen Kobus became second in front of Peter Corazza. The austrian Chris Brugger increased in every stage and became a well 5th place at the end of the rally.
Tom Kristensson won the third round of the Opel Adam Rally Cup in front of Calvin Beattie and Frederic Hauswald.
